Companies associated with CTES-Chile took part in this event held at the Colegio de Ingenieros, where the Corporation reported on its management and progress during 2025, presented the results of the 3rd Photography Contest, and recognised the best underground projects developed in Chile.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last Thursday, December 18, the Chilean Tunnels and Underground Spaces Corporation (CTES-Chile) successfully held its traditional annual Networking Reception, bringing together a broad representation of its member companies, industry professionals, and key stakeholders. The event took place at the Colegio de Ingenieros and was led by representatives of the Corporation\u2019s Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Gustavo Estay, President of CTES-Chile, welcomed attendees. In his opening remarks, he sincerely thanked the member companies for their participation and ongoing commitment, highlighting the essential role each plays in the Corporation\u2019s development, positioning, and projection at both national and international levels.<\/p>\n

Management, progress, and challenges for 2025<\/b><\/h2>\n

One of the main objectives of the Chilean Tunnels and Underground Spaces Corporation (CTES-Chile) is to promote knowledge dissemination, technical training, and the exchange of experiences in the field of tunnels and underground works. In this context, during the Networking Reception, the Corporation\u2019s President presented a comprehensive report on management and the main results achieved during 2025.<\/p>\n

Among the most significant milestones, Gustavo Estay highlighted the delivery of eleven technical and outreach activities aimed at strengthening knowledge and collaboration among members and industry professionals. In particular, the Subsea Tunnels Seminar and the summits \u201cInnovation in reinforcement and support systems for underground works\u201d and \u201cProgress of underground megaprojects in Chile\u201d were highlighted\u2014events that consolidated CTES-Chile as a technical and industry reference in the sector.<\/p>\n

Emphasis was also placed on strengthening member-company participation, expanding the collaboration network, and deepening ties with other organisations and institutions related to underground infrastructure, both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

Regarding future challenges, the 2026 work agenda was presented, which includes continuing these initiatives and holding the 2nd Latin American Meeting on Tunnels and Underground Spaces in Lima, Peru, with a special focus on innovation, sustainability, and regional development.<\/p>\n

Awards Ceremony: 3<\/b>rd<\/b> CTES-Chile Photography Contest<\/b><\/h2>\n

As part of the event, the awards ceremony for the Corporation\u2019s 3rd Photography Contest, titled \u201cInfrastructure for Chile\u2019s Development\u201d, was held. This initiative aims to showcase, through images, the contribution of underground infrastructure to the country\u2019s development across different productive and urban sectors.<\/p>\n

The third edition of the contest attracted more than 60 participants, who captured\u2014through diverse perspectives\u2014the essence and scale of Chile\u2019s underground world, highlighting its technical, social, and territorial relevance.<\/p>\n
